Krilin Fortress
If one were to follow the Brintor road and climb the Brintor Mountains via the north-western paths, he or she would find Krilin Fortress.

This city-fortress protects its inhabitants from the harshness of the Brintors, specifically from the barbaric giants that can be found wandering the mountainside forests. Periodically, the giants mount their own raid upon the fortress, always trying to bring carnage and death to the citizens within.

Recently, the fortress has opened a smaller fort to watch over the trails to the plains of Ryarl. The area falls under the Guardian's protection as well, but the Krilin guard is more than capable of handling itself. Nearly every guardsmen of Krilin will attempt to protect someone, and will attack criminals on sight, placing law and order above the light.

The patron god of Krilin appears to be Jolinn, with a small chapel erected in his honor within the heart of the fortress. It is not uncommon to find evil-doers infiltrate the fortress, and ravage the inhabitants for money and for the practice of murder.

Because of its militaristic state, the fortress also equips its soldiers well, and many persons find themselves using Krilin-forged equipment at one point or another in their life. Whether it's stolen through dubious ways, or pillaged through murder, or requested through faith and honor, there's always something to be had from the fortress.

Highlights:

  • Good ranking area for evil parties. Mobs for most ranges, although the popular picks are usually parties doing the councilmen as early as level 30, and then bodyguards as early as level 35.
  • Baron Krilin, who has good equipment and is a fair pick for hero-ward level experience.
  • A lot of good equipment on most mobs. Common items consist of signet pendants, broadswords, and the infamous fine steel rapier of the Baron.
  • Retli has a small, somewhat repeatable quest with monetary rewards.
  • Hill giants will somtimes charge at the fortress, sending the guard and the giants into a fierce battle outside.

Things to be careful of:

  • Krilin is a lightwalker AND a lawful area. So you're irritating two alignments at once if you're doing malicious acts here. Just be wary of the risks.
  • Most of the mobs in Krilin are classified as guards, so be careful when initiating PKs here, as well as going here while a criminal.
  • A lot of the soldier-type mobs disarm. So watch out for your weapons.
