The Arien road and the surrounding plains pretty much serve as a giant
"connection" area, linking a lot of areas together. However, there are
still a number of noted details that players should look into.
The home of the Champions, the Aramril Tower, rests at the north-eastern parts
of the Arien plains. The Brintor Road is north of the Brintor Crossroads, while
Earendam is farther to east, Var Bandor to the west and south, with the Qilarn forest
to the west.
Merchant caravans are typically travelling on the Arien road, and are very prone
to being ambushed and looted for all of their money. These merchants have attained
a reputation of gaining their money through darker, more dubious ways, and as such are
even frequently targeted by lightwalkers.
Recently, a boom in the population of dust geese has resulted in many dust geese migrating
to the plains as well.
Because of the expanse of the Arien plains, and the relative proximity of two lawful
cities, these grasslands often become battlegrounds for many adventurers. Skirmishes
are not uncommon, nor are flat out ambushes. Often times the Brintor Crossroads serves
as an arena for the braver of folk, because of its distinction from the rest of the grasslands.
Highlights:
- The merchants carry a decent amount of money for their level. These are
popular mobs to be killed for coins alone, but even lower ranked people have
been known to solo-rank off them. Just watch out for the caravan guards, who
now DO their job.
- A lot of people use the Arien plains as a means of shaking their pursuers
when PK'ing. Because of the number of areas connected to the Ariens, as well as
the areas past them (especially Earendam and ITS grasslands), it's relatively easy
to do so. Circling around and going out the same way you came in on the grasslands,
is also fairly common.
Things to be careful of:
- Entering the tower of Aramril by mistake. Believe me, it happens
more often than you think.
- Crossing the Arien plains too many times during a PK situation.
A lot of people keep watch on the Arien plains when they lose their
target, because it IS a connector area, and a frequently travelled one at that.
